For my Capstone, I visited my little sister's fourth grade class and taught them the importance of brushing and flossing their teeth. I used the dentures from our very own nursing lab to demonstrate how to brush and floss. I was so nervous before I presented to them, but it became easier. It felt like I had known the kids forever! I was super shocked when the kids had so many questions for me after my presentation. I brought them all toothbrushes and floss and I wore my superhero scrubs! I really enjoyed teaching kids the proper way to brush and floss and I would love to do it again. This impacts my future career because I am helping children keep their teeth healthy and trying to prevent them from getting cavities or built up plaque by teaching them good hygiene.
